Recognition for Training

Specialty Diver, Advanced Specialty Diver and Master Diver

SSI Specialty training is the first step towards becoming a safer and more competent diver. Your pathway starts right after Open Water Diver, or you can even combine Specialty programs like Perfect Buoyancy, Enriched Air Nitrox, Computer Diving and/or Dry Suit with your Open Water Diver course. As long as all content and training dives are completed, this is possible.

SSI rewards certified divers who seek out additional training to increase their knowledge and skills, along with their experience. These recognition cards are automatically issued when you complete a certain number, or certain types, of specialty training programs.

As you dive and train more, you automatically qualify for higher recognition. SSI's recognitions are the highest in the industry—earned through experience, not purchase!

There is a huge variety of SSI specialty programs which give you the knowledge and skills to conduct almost any kind of specialized dives. Some specialty training, Wreck Diving, or Waves, Tides and Currents might even be required by resort training centers to access their specialized dive sites. It is recommended to take Navigation, Night/Limited Visibility, and Deep Diving specialty programs, if you want to train up to Divemaster. Explore all SSI´s Specialty Programs!

Recognition for Diving Experience

Whether you were certified through SSI or another training agency, you are also eligible to receive recognition. Every time you reach a new number of open water dives – 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000 or even 5,000, you automatically earn a Digital Recognition Card.

These cards symbolize commitment, loyalty and excellence in diving. The more you dive, the higher the recognition you earn. While we encourage learning more for every new adventure, beyond Open Water Diver, there is no other training is required. All you have to do is get out there and dive!
