Kuda Giri Wreck

Lumboa Giri is located quite close to Kuda Giri, and it’s a quite similar dive site, although smaller and without the wreck. A nice pinnacle, with an interesting configuration, it boasts nice hard & soft corals, a good fish life, and makes for an interesting macro option.

The Kuda Giri is a very pretty, old wreck accessible by short swim from the pinnacle. This is a boat dive with an excellent, small wreck sitting next to a very well established giri (pinnacle) with lots of small caves and overhangs.

Dhigu Thila lies in the pass between the local island of Gulhi & the resort of Anantara. A quite long thila, it boasts majestic sea fans, beautiful soft & hard corals, and a dense & thriving fish life. Marble sting rays, eagle rays, grey reef sharks, occasional manta, and good macro is what you can expect here

Although generally less dived than its northern counterpart (Miyaru Faru), Gulhi corner is a good option when oceanic current runs from the south east. A nice place to finish the dive after crossing the channel (coming from Myraru Faru corner). Some small overhangs with nice hard & soft corals. plenty of pelagics

Named after a customer participating in a “search for new dive site“, Yaara giri is an easy dive site, with an interesting topography (wall, sand slopes, reef outcrops), decent corals and a good fish life. Occasional hawksbill turtles and white tip reef sharks can be seen here, on top of the usual reef fish.

In the local language (Dhivehi), Miyaru means “shark“ and Faru means “reef“. Shark’s reef it is then, so it’s not too hard to guess what you can expect here !! White tip sharks galore, grey reef sharks aplenty, a few nurse sharks, less common leopard sharks too and even rare tiger sharks & whale sharks sightings!

Small caves & overhangs that lies in the middle of the pass between Maafushi & Anantara Resort. Good fish life, and nice soft coral growing underneath the coral formations, tucked away from light and current, which can be quite strong here.

Named after the nearby sandbank were “scantily clad“ tourists from Maafushi used to come to frolic before the opening of Bikini Beach on the island. Nice dive site for macro & night dives, with healthy coral and good fish life. Turtles are present, along with Mobula rays and the occasional white tip reef shark.

This is a shore dive, 2 to 3m deep, approximately 200m in length, has a sandy bottom with patches of seaweed, coral blocks, and is part of the Maldives Passions Coral Growing Farm Project.

This is a great site for beginning divers and advanced alike. This house reef is easily accessible from shore and filled with marine life.
