We’re not just another quarry. We are a Dive Facility, better known as Blue Stone. We are located 6 miles off Interstate 85 in Thomasville, North Carolina. Blue Stone has a full service Dive center equipped with one of the most modern computer analyzed air fill station with a storage capacity of 80,000 cubic feet.

Abundance of marine life. Including: Bass, Blue Gill, Bream, Catfish, Japanese Coy, Carp, and Painted turtles

American Quarry is the flagship quarry for the PDRA. (Piedmont Diving Rescue Association). The Quarry is 65’ deep at the pit with many objects to dive on.

Lake Norman Rock Quarry

This is a PDRA Quarry. It is membership owned and its deepest point the depth is around 96 ft. Surface temps range from 82 F in the summer to 40 F in the winter.

Lake Hickory Scuba Sail Boat

This dive site contains several items to dive on including two training platforms, a basketball hoop, a jet ski, a sailboat, several satellite dishes, and other objects all linked together via ropes leading to and from the docks at the dive center.

Sandbar

The Sandbar Site is a local favorite for boaters. It’s a large area in the lake that is very shallow, coming within 3 ft. of the surface. Many boats will raft together for a day of partying on the lake.

Snow Creek Truck

Here you will find a Submerged 2006 Nissan 4 door pickup in 23’ of water. The truck is stuck in silt up to the wheel wells. A great dive but can be murky due to all the silt in the cove.

JMR Quarry (AKA Blanch Quarry) is a great place to dive. You will need to join the “PDRA“ or come as a guest of a PDRA member. The Quarry is open 24/7/365 if you have a key. Make sure to bring a dive buddy, as there is no solo diving allowed.

Fantasy Lake Scuba Park is a 100 acre lake that has depths reaching 80ft. Great for beginner and intermediate training courses. Fantasy Lake Scuba Park is open 365 days a year making an ideal training location for specialties such as night diving.

Started out as a granite quarry. Once it filled with water the town of Wendell used it for a water supply. The current owners purchased the property and are turning it into a premier diving location.

South Holston Lake is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Bristol, TN. The maximum depth is 121-130ft/30-40m,The average visibility is 16-20ft/5-6m.The shoreline is only partially developed and much of the reservoir is bordered by the Cherokee National Forest.

Lake Murray Irmo Side “Rhett’s Reef“

Known as Rhett’s Reef dive site is located at the north end of the Lake Murray Dam in the Lake Murray Dam North Recreational Area, 9 minutes from Wateree Dive Center. Street address 2101 N Lake Dr, Columbia, SC 29212. Water entry is via the stairs located to the left when entering picnic area from the parking lot.
