Nursery Cove & The Labyrinth

Easy shallow dive in a sheltered bay. Lots of rocks around the edges of this bay. The deepest area is the sand line at 18m at the entrance. Go around the southern point to “The Labyrinth“ and find the swim throughs there.

This arch takes a diver from the western side of the island to the eastern side. Walls outside the arch reach depth of 30m, while the inside of the arch shallows up to just 5m. On the eastern side to the right there is a group of large boulders and a small cave at around 20m.

A wall dive to 30m + on the outside of the cave. The cave mouth is large and at the sand line. Only qualified cave divers should enter beyond the light zone. Inside the cave mouth is covered in very cool growth. Outside is a great place to look for nudibranchs.

An iconic site for photographers due to the blue glow producing an awesome silhouette shots. The crack is about 60m long and at the open end, is about 15m deep. It is open to the surface the whole length of the crack and approx 10m wide at the opening, narrowing to 3m wide.

Brady’s Corner (Shark Fin Cave)

Typical New Zealand Reefs. Steep drops offs and lots of boulders to look at. Good for beginner as it has shallow parts and is sheltered. Steep drops off go to 40 meters.

Landing Bay Pinnacle & Teravana Cave

Pinnacle sea mount that attracts lots off fish life. Pinnacle rises to a depth of around 5 meters, but dives to 40+ meters can be made here. Dive site is better for advanced and expert divers.

The largest sea cave in the southern hemisphere, the size of Rikoriko Cave is impressive. This is a great dive site for many experience levels, and a good spot for a night dive too

Mixture of boulder and sandy patches at this consistently shallow site. The depth at the back of the bay is an easy 5-10m. The bay plateaus at around 10-15m for about 500m out from the wall. Around the wall at the back of the bay are a number of cracks and archways to go exploring in. Shark fin cave is beauty!

Should be renamed Leopard Anemone Point! The bay has a bouldery – kelpy bottom which gradually slopes down from about 10m heading down to 60metres for those ith the training.

Middle Arch is one of the best sites for diving at the Poor Knights. The Arch bottoms out at 18m and slopes down to 40m+ on both the North and South ends of the Arch. There is also an interesting cave with an air pocket near the Southwestern entrance to the Arch below the vertical white line seen from the surface.
