Keeper Reef

Located off Townsville, Keeper Reef offers a wonderful dive for those that love to explore healthy coral gardens. Going no more than 16 metres, it is easy to get lost at this dive site as the coral gardens are divided by ridges and bommies, creating a coral maze.

Divers will see schools of fusiliers, coral trout, rabbitfish, batfish, turtles, whitetip reef sharks, sweetlips and barramundi cod. Home to crayfish, rock cods, squirrelfish and shrimp.

Lodestone reef is the closest reef to Townsville being only just over an hour via boat. Depths range from 3m to 45m so it caters for all types of divers and snorkelers. Visibility is usually around 5 - 20m depending on weather.

Alma Bay has a shallow fringing reef on both the left and right sides. Gentle sloping, sandy bottom with very little water movement. The maximum depth is 9m with an average depth around 5m.

Yongala Wreck

SS Yongala Wreck - The boat is now an artificial reef with amazing marine life that are supersized compared to seeing them on the Great Barrier Reef. You cannot penetrate or touch the wreck as it is a grave site but this doesn’t take away from this amazing dive. Can have very strong currents.

Shallow but beautiful dive site. You’d want to plan for a Hightide entry! otherwise its extremely shallow. Perfectly easy to navigate and has rarely any current.

Nice and shallow dive site, situated on the north side of Rose Bay. Ideal for those looong and slow dives to look for all the diverse marine life. Careful entering, watch out for rocks under the surface!

Flynn Reef is one of Cairns’s outermost reefs. Expect excellent visibility. Flynn Reef provides some excellent wall dives, sloping coral gardens, and sandy lagoon holes where you can find coral bommies. Litte Tray’s is one of the many amazing dives on Flynn Reef.

Central, Breaking Patches

Offers a lovely shallow wall with picturesque beauty, making it an easy site to navigate. Shallow sand patches are perfect for skills and macro diving. The western wall does offer a little more depth but is also known to have some strong currents coming through.

Hastings Reef Blue Lagoon

Wall feature up to 20m deep, shallow on top. It has a sandy patch where you can see heaps of sea cucumbers. It is a really good site to find small and interesting things around.
