Lake Stamford, a reservoir formed by Stamford Dam, is located 10 miles northeast of Stamford, Texas, in southeastern Haskell County. The lake had a storage capacity in 1999 of 51,573 acre feet and drains an area of 368 square miles. Due to sedimentation, the estimated capacity as of 2013 is 50,061 acre⋅ft.

Somervell County Water District opened Wheeler Branch Park on August 7, 2010. The park has a boat ramp with floating dock, a beach area that also has its own floating dock island, public restrooms, covered picnic areas, and a large pavilion.

This dive site is privately owned and rented out to official dive groups from their website. Just google it. Suggest good physical condition as there are a lot of steps down.

Scuba Diver’s Paradise’s own Deep Water platform averaging 90 feet. Used to teach SSI’s Deep Diving course. Expect to face 2 or 3 thermoclines, suggested 5 mm Wetsuit, minimum.Platform on lakebed allows students and diver’s to find dedicated line to navigate to other areas. (Graveyard, or Advanced Sight)

The Scuba Ranch, formerly known as Clear Springs Scuba Park, opened in June 15, 2001. We are a family owned and operated recreational scuba facility, and offer a 22 acre spring-fed lake that has one of the most beautiful, natural habitats seen in a fresh-water Texas Lake.

This freshwater lake is a popular site for locals. Visibility is usually 5-15 feet with warmer water during the summer months. There is a dive shop at the marina on the NE side of the lake making air fills convenient.

Training Dock located just outside of the Dive Shop. Divers giant stride into 12 feet of water and follow the buoy down to the platform. “This is the official “Starting Point“ of dive.

Stillhouse Hollow Lake is located in central Texas and is open year round. Stillhouse Park is an easy shore dive and popular amongst locals. There is a dive shop at the marina on the NE side of the lake making air fills convenient. Visibility is usually 5-15 ft.
