Diving in Viti Levu

Pristine white sand beaches and seemingly untouched, crystal clear waters, make of Viti Levu the getaway destination for honeymooners and families alike. Viti Levu, the heart of the Fijian islands and the largest of all the islands, is home Suva, the Capital of Fiji, and home to 75% of the country’s population. Covered in lush, green mountainsides, volcanic peaks, and beautiful river valleys, you will find this island sitting directly in the path of the prevailing trade winds, making it subject to more torrential rainfall. Viti Levu is also the busiest of all the islands in the archipelago. This region is fast becoming recognized for its world-class diving and pristine coral reefs. One of the most popular activities in the area is shark feeding dive at Shark Reef, where you can encounter bull and tiger sharks. You will find relatively consistent diving conditions all year-round. Dive into the crystalline, warm waters of Viti Levu, that rarely drop 78º F (26º C). Adventurer divers that are looking to explore all of Viti Levu’s different possibilities can explore the area by Liveaboard diving, a perfect option for all travelers. Beware of the monsoon season that happens from December to April; the best month to travel to this region is May.
