Diving in Victoria

The smallest state in Australia is Victoria. This region is home to Melbourne, one of the biggest cities in Australia with plenty of activities to enjoy both inland and at sea. Melbourne is one of the most important centers for scuba diving and surfing. Head to Phillip Island that is just a short ferry ride away from Stony Point; from this little island you will be able to see the penguin parade, where you will see groups of little penguins that come ashore. Stroll along the Great Ocean Walk to see beautiful beaches and maybe even some whales. Victoria is also famous for being home to hundreds of seals that you will be able to see while scuba diving. July to August are winter months, and you will find cold water with an average temperature of 8º C (46º F). The best months to visit are December to March when it’s summer season, and you will find warmer temperatures with an average of 27º C (81º F). Victoria has an artificial reef called HMAS Canberra that was created for dive sports; however, you need to be an experienced diver to access it. Dive into the waters of Victoria to encounter seahorses, friendly dolphins, weedy sea dragons, and colorful nudibranchs.
