Diving in Kadavu

Kadavu is the perfect place to get immersed in the Fijian culture. Kadavu sits like a hidden gem in the southernmost area of Fiji, in a place off the beaten path and away from all of the chain resorts and mainstream tourist areas. This is an excellent area for ecotourism with a handful of eco-friendly resorts. Kadavu is undeveloped and, mostly, unpaved and will give you a good taste of real Fiji. Some of the friendliest people you can find inhabit this area. Pristine coral reefs can be seen as you dive in Kadavu, which is best known for the Great Astrolabe Reef, the fourth largest barrier reef in the world sitting just off the southern shore. Some of the marine species you can find in this breathtaking reef are big fish like tuna, marlin, and sharks. Thrilling adventures await you as you explore in the many steep drop-offs, many passages, submerged pinnacles, and even manta ray cleaning stations. Make sure you include time in your itinerary to dive in Manta Reef, Eagle Rock, Connie’s Reef, and Broken Stone. Brilliant hard and soft corals and small reef fish abound the reef and walls. Adventure is waiting: go hiking through the lush rainforests, taking a refreshing dip in a waterfall, and kayaking around the island.
