Antique shipwreck discovered off Croatia

Divers discovered a more than 2,000-year-old wreck off the island of PagVedran Dorušić, President of the Diving Tourism Organization of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, discovered the wreck during a diving expedition with tourists near the island of Pag.

The ship, together with the large number of amphoras, will probably become a major new attraction for diving tourism, which is experiencing steady growth with around 180 dive centers in Croatia.
According to Croatian media, this latest archaeological find in Croatian waters, in cooperation with Dive Centers, has led the Ministry of Culture to protect the site through video surveillance and other measures, and to develop new ways of promoting tourism.
