Laguna de Apoyo first official freediving spot. Water is warm, no thermocline, no current, and rarely any waves. Main training spot for Freediving Nicaragua. 60m clean available. Private mooring line, contact Freediving Nicaragua.

Herradura is near Jaco, Costa Rica, by Los Suenos Marina. A fun dive to look for sharks.

Meros is a very shallow dive site, no deepers than 12m/40ft, great for photography. Not uncommon to see frog fish here. Great place for a relaxes second dive of the day.

Punta Ballena (Whale Point) is located between Playa Hermosa and Playa Panama. The dive site is the underwater extension of the peninsula separating both beaches. Great place to see lots of eagle rays and stingrays and many schooling fish.

20 Minutes from Plays del Coco this is one of the favourite sites in the Gulf of Papagayo. An easy drift around the pinnacle takes about an hour and you will spot large schools of tropical fish, rays, and reef sharks.
