PSD TRAINING SITE: Red River South Marina is a public launch and Marina. At pool stage of the river, depth is from 0-18 feet, along the pier. Has a hard sandy bottom. Visibility is usually 0’. Being off the main river, there is only a slight current.

The Scuba Ranch, formerly known as Clear Springs Scuba Park, opened in June 15, 2001. We are a family owned and operated recreational scuba facility, and offer a 22 acre spring-fed lake that has one of the most beautiful, natural habitats seen in a fresh-water Texas Lake.

Deriving its name from the vast number of huge houseboats (floating hotels) that anchor around this island, Hotel Island is a favorite Lake Ouachita dive site. You can always expect to find knick-knacks that have found their way overboard from the flotilla.

Located at Blakely Dam, parking is available at the far end of the Dam Site with a staircase leading to the water. This is a common training site and is visited annually by those paying respects at the underwater memorial, FEARLESS ROCK. Feel free to visit the site but do not disturb the Memorial.

Scuba Diver’s Paradise’s own Deep Water platform averaging 90 feet. Used to teach SSI’s Deep Diving course. Expect to face 2 or 3 thermoclines, suggested 5 mm Wetsuit, minimum.Platform on lakebed allows students and diver’s to find dedicated line to navigate to other areas. (Graveyard, or Advanced Sight)

This is Divetech’s state-of-the-art training pool. It was built on January of 2012. It has a retractable floor system that allows to establish variable depths.

Somervell County Water District opened Wheeler Branch Park on August 7, 2010. The park has a boat ramp with floating dock, a beach area that also has its own floating dock island, public restrooms, covered picnic areas, and a large pavilion.
