Boca Sami

Nice and easy shore dive in St. Michiels Bay with large sponges in the deeper parts of the reef around 30 m / 100 ft. The large buoy in the bay is attached to a massive anchor chain which is a perfect reference point for your way back.

For the experienced deep diver only. At about 400mtr/1300ft to the left of Vaersenbaai you will find the car pile with cars sitting between 40 to 50mtr/130 to 170ft and a small shipwreck at the same depth a little bit further.

An easy entry shore dive with parking just a short walk from the water. White sandy bottom with some nice isolated coral blocks with a slopey coral reef starting at 5 mtr / 15 ft.

In 1942 the USS Erie was torpedoed in this area and put ashore. From the ship a Kingfisher plane was thrown overboard and you can still find some wreckage of the plane as well as some parts of the Erie here. The ship itself is not here and was sunk several miles of the coast.

Water Factory / Fisherman’s Wharf

In front of the old water factory lies this gorgeous healthy shallow coral reef. There are lots of different hard corals and large barrel sponges and orange elephant ear sponges with a shallow steep wall just at the end of the coral reef.

The first reef slopes down to about 14m / 46ft where it becomes a sandy bottom. From there you can see the second reef. The second reef starts around 18m / 60ft and drops down to 30 m/ 100ft and deeper.

Superior Producer is rated as one of the best wreck dives in the Caribbean. this cargo ship sits upright on a sandy bottom at 30 m / 100 ft. The ship sank in 1977 and is covered with coral and sponges and has an openly accessible cargo bay.

A calm, easy shore dive where you enter the water from a small harbor. Nice and gentle sloping reef starting at 5 m / 15 ft. Further out to the left you will find car pile, an interesting artificial reef made from dumped cars, cranes, and more scrap. Sometimes large tarpon hang around here.

Car Pile - Marie Pampoen (Wreck)

A nice deep dive where car wrecks were dumped in the sixties. The car wreckage starts at 15mtr/50ft with the more intact ones a bit deeper. At 30mtr/100ft you find a small barge on a sandy bottom with some more boat wreckage around it. For the tech diver there is more to be found at 60mtr/200ft and deeper.
