The northern side of champagne rock is a great starting area for you dive. Out in champagne bay is 10m with big open reef. Swimming along side the rock itself is a wall that is littered with sealife.

MAHURANGI IS/ GOAT IS

2 tractors were sunk here to make an artificial reef Many moons ago. This is a sandy bottom with small broken reef that borders on the Hahei marine reserve. Great for beginners and OW1 and 2. Easy navigation and is protected from most weather.

Gemstone bay is INSIDE THE HAHEI MARINE RESERVE so its a no touch or take dive site. Some of the biggest snapper and crayfish on the coromandel its a great place to dive and view what a marine reserve can do for an area

Boat Harbour is a very popular place to park up but diving around waipapa island can be good fun, sandy bay in the middle and the further around the island you go the deeper and steeper the drop off.

THE TWINS, Waikato

The twins is a dive site 15mins away from whitianga located between whiti and devils point. A bit of experience is need for this dive and a run of decent weather. The north and south side are the deepest parts of the dive with a swim through at about 10m down right in the middle of the twins.

Devils Point

Great deep diving country with current running on the outer pin dropping off past 30m. as you come towards the middle pin there is a belly that comes up to 5-8m good for doing safety stops. As you head towards humbug bay there is a lot of boulder area with deep cracks and holes and comes up to a couple of caves.

HUMBUG BAY

A Big bay with various dive sites on it. boulder and rocky out crops. Good fish life and a couple of caves underwater toward devils point. On the far east side of the bay there is a 3 level drop on to rocky reef.

Matapaua Bay

Sandy Bay in the middle, Shallow reefs on either side. Great for beginner divers or OW1 and 2. During summer the bay can have heavy boat traffic so be careful. SE is the worst wind and swell for the bay.
