Coral Garden

A small Giri with an abundance of corals, reef life and names, eg. Floral Garden, Teabag-Giri or Aquarium. The top of the reef starts at 1m at low tide and extends down to 20m+ on certain parts of the seamount. Most of the days you will be able to go around the whole circular reef as the currents are small.

Kunaavashi Kandu

The third channel to the west of Fulidhoo offers a great dive to see big fish during incoming currents at both channel entrances. The south side has larger overhangs and cavities starting at 10m down to 30m+ moving further into the channel. Along the reef edge you will mostly find grey reef- and white-tip sharks.

Miyaru Kandu

This channel site is in the northeast of Vaavu atoll. This site is more suited to advanced divers as you can encounter strong currents. When there is less current, the dive site can also be for less experienced divers.

Rani Corner is a beautiful inner reef dive with a wall starting at around 5 meters and gradually slopping down till 30 meters, with lots of overhangs in between 10-25 meters with great hard and soft corals.

Fihalhohi Beru is a beautiful thila on the outside reef. There are many schools of fish and often big fish if there is some current. Around the overhangs on the west side you might encounter nurse sharks. Taking a torch is recommended.

Huge schools of yellow back and neon fusiliers swarm around the thila together with schools of trevally and barracuda are also around, ready to hunt and feast on the smaller fish.

At the outside reef of Fihalohi, a gentle slope goes down to 20 meters. In the sandy bottom there are stone corals and, within it, shelter loads of glassfish and cleaning shrimps.

This is a long, gently dropping reef. An easy dive site for every level of diver. Best depth is in the 5 to 20-meter zone. During the month of August, there is a strong possibility to see whale sharks with the small incoming south to east current.

This is a small inside reef, with a drop off on the west side and lots of overhangs. A torch is recommended. This site is full of hard corals on the top reef and is one of the best sites known for its coral.
