Beautiful opening in the reef. A lot of verticality when arriving at the St. Etienne Drop-off. The upper part of the drop-off is very lively, with plenty of fish and turtles. A magnificent dive, especially with good visibility.

The descent takes place along a drop-off, marked from 25 meters by a coral projection at the end of which stands a magnificent peak with a diameter of 15 meters.

Located in the heart of the Fishermen’s Bay, the site presents itself as a vast disc, swept by the waves. The outer edge, steep, offers beautiful perspectives on the abyss; gorgonians and black coral find their place there.

The exploration of the site revolves around three peaks, with the highest points rising to minus 6 meters, minus 12 meters, and minus 20 meters. The striking contrast between the deep blue abyss and the proudly standing peaks provides beautiful perspectives.

The site owes its name to a freshwater spring emerging from the depths of the ocean. It gushes out at 5-6 meters below the surface and is easily visible due to the column of fresh water escaping from it. This is what is called a halocline. This site is well-known in Tahiti for turtle watching.

Just a few minutes from the Taina marina, this site allows you to explore the bottom of the channel and the shallow area between the lagoon and the coral barrier. A favored habitat for stonefish, scorpionfish, and lionfish, the site also reveals delightful surprises during night dives.

Dive site located after the Sofitel hotel at PK15. A succession of canyons where large “coral mushrooms“ are found, serving as a refuge for whitetip sharks and Maori perch. During calm weather, there is the possibility to enjoy the magnificent “oho,“ a canyon near the coral reef.

This site takes the form of a vast amphitheater created by the collapse of a portion of the underwater plateau. Divers have two exploration options, one at the southern end of the arena and the other at the northern point. The depth of the site ranges from 8 meters to 40 meters.

Certainly the best site for beginners in Tahiti. A coral ring which is ideal for a first dive. There are also 3 wrecks lying on the sand: a Cessna (5 m) and 2 boats.

Just 20 minutes by boat from the Taina marina, you have the opportunity to explore the northwest tip of Tahiti’s coral plateau. A lighthouse guides boats to spot the coral reef and the beginning of the lagoon as they navigate around Tahiti.
