Santos (Wreck)

The Santos is a 100-year-old dredger wreck. It is well broken up but with nice features which include the dredger buckets, gears, and engine. The wreck lies at approximately 30 meters deep. You should always dive this wreck at slack tide.

Sandycove

Shallow training site. Sandy bottom. Sheltered from most wind directions. It,s not very tidal except on big spring tides. The shallowest part is closest to the slip going from about 1m to 10m.

The Chicago

This was a 100-year-old liner that ran up on the rocks. It lies in 9 to 20 meters of water. The ship is well broken up, but there are some nice swim-throughs. You can still see the boiler engine and prop shaft.

Portroe Quarry

Portroe Quarry has a lot to offer for both scuba and free divers. Depth ranges from 6m to 40m and great visibility, usually with more than 10m allows to perform interesting dives all year round. The quarry has many underwater attractions including cars, boats, mirrors, internet cafe and even a bar!

Outer Rock is a short 5-10 minute boat spin away from Kilkee pier. Depths range from 5m all the way down to 45 meters. It is actually possible to dive both Outer Rock and middle rock on the same dive as the join underwater at around 30m

Bridges of Ross

Beautiful shore dive with great geology. Swim out on the surface halfway out of of the bay, descend down and when you hit around 12m keep the wall on your right. about 15-20 minutes into the dive there is a crack on the wall. Follow that and you will find underwater bridges

Back of Lime Rock

5-10 minute boat spin from Quilty pier. Drop on the corner of the small island and keep the wall on the left side. The wall is in the shape of a bowl and depths from 10m all the way to 35m can be found here

A scenic boat ride takes you out to the Aran Islands, often joined by pods of Common Dolphins! Poll na bPéist, the world-famous Red Bull diving location, is just as spectacular beneath the water as above. Head into the Wormhole itself to start off a beautiful dive, followed by swim throughs & walls down to 24m!

Trá na Reilige is an enjoyable shore dive on the Carraroe side of Costelloe Bay. It is accessed as a shore-dive and also makes a very nice snorkel spot! Is it best dove at high water. It ranges from 8m-12m.
