Captain Grumpy

While we don’t know the story behind the name of this site, we definitely don’t know how anyone could be grumpy after seeing the huge schools of yellowtail snapper, tomtates, eels of all types including spotted, green and viper, numerous nurse sharks, and lobsters.

Victory Reef

Deeper than some of the other coral reefs, Victory Reef has spur and groove formations and a natural “V“ shape which provides different scuba diving adventures. If you swim northeast you will drop off the wall, and if you swim southwest you will have a 50-60 foot dive.

Hamm

This small patch reef is surprisingly packed full of life. In addition to huge schools of tropical fish, you will find sharks, eels, lobsters, crabs and more under the ledges on the outskirts of the reef.

Maze - Florida

Within easy reach of Islamorada dive shops, this site is a uniquely shaped patch reef with lots of interesting macro opportunities. There is even a resident turtle named Steve.

Rocky Top

A vibrant patch reef just off the shore of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. This dive site is home to thousands of fish, coral, and larger marine life such as sea turtles, sharks, and rays. The top of the reef is about 15 feet while the sand is between 20 and 25 feet, so also good for snorkelers. Mooring ball.

Classic Florida Keys spur and groove reef formation with large sand channels alternating with high profile coral fingers. An ideal site for seeing spotted eagle rays.

As the name would imply, a great dive site to take in on the way back from some of the farther sites. Shallow enough for safe offgassing but with lots of critters!

Morada

20-25 foot dive – This is a very purple reef (“morada” means purple in Spanish). From the flowing purple gorgonians to the swaying purple soft corals, this site is a customer favorite if you like a lot of color. This site is also home to Bonnethead sharks for the better part of the year.

Jeri’s Joint

A spur and groove reef interspersed with large coral heads known for its defining sand channel (the joint) running through it. Typical depths range from 35ft (10m) to 65ft (20m).

A deeper reef site with several uncommon species. 40-65’ (13-20m) with a nice range of coral. Located just off the southern tip of Islamorada. Suitable for all level of divers.
