This training site is a custom built, 15ft pool, designed to meet all of the needs for training recreational, technical, and professional divers.

As a pool, the wildlife is hard to find. If you are lucky, you will find the ever elusive Troy fish!

Chatfield

The Chatfield dive site has a soft, silt bottom, thus visibility is usually quite poor, typically less than 5 feet. Depth averages 20 ft with small areas ranging around 30’ ft. A sunken sailboat with trailer, a fire hydrant, and a toilet are all connected by a rope line for your amusement.

Aurora Reservoir

This large reservoir is located southeast of Denver, Colorado. There is a specific scuba diving area open April 1 to October 1 every year, dawn to dusk, that offers shore accessible diving. Maximum depth is 50 feet and average visibility is 5-10 feet.

48,000 gallon pool includes “endless pool” and an underwater sound system. There is a lift for disabled divers and our fill station is right by the pool. The pool is 12 feet deep on the far end and ranges from 3.5 to 4.5 feet deep in the shallow end.

A 4.5-acre lake outside of Denver, CO with 44 feet of depth. Visibility ranges April - July 4 ft to 22 ft, July - Sept 4 ft to 15 ft. Average temp March = 50. April = 55. May = 66. June = 70. July - Sept 72. Oct = 64.2

Ocean First Pool

Ocean First’s indoor pool is kept at a balmy 89ºF and the ambient air temperature within about 10 degrees of that to ensure swimmers and divers are comfortable getting in and out of the water. The pool has both a 4’ shallow end and a large 12’ deep well.

The Saddle - Carter Lake

The Saddle at Carter Lake is a common Open Water training site and a fun dive location. There are plenty of local fish. The gentle slope is great for beginners while the limited visibility offers something for intermediate to advanced divers whether that be Navigation, Search and Recovery, or Night/Limited vis.

High Plains Scuba Center

86 degree heated pool in our facility. Maintained with 2 large sand filters and chlorine. Pool can be reserved for $25/person/hour. 970-493-8562.

Sunrise Beach - Horsetooth Reservoir

This is a great location to familiarize yourself with local diving. It is just 10 minutes from the local dive store. A nice parking area with covered picnic tables exists. All this with a beautiful view of the mountains and some great local diving.

This dive site is owned by the City of Santa Rosa and requires a dive permit ($20) obtained on site, In the summer parking is $10 per vehicle. The maximum depth is 81 feet and it is a altitude dive. The water is 63-64 degrees year around so a 7mm is highly recommended but you can manage with a 5mm.
