One of the famous dive sites in Hurghada is Small Giftun Drift, also known as the Polics Station. It offers a great wall drift dive finishing with a coral garden plateau and stunning coral reef with lots of marine life of varying types.

Russian built Minesweeper wreck located just outside Hurghada marina. The carrier of the El Mina came to an abrupt end in early June 1970th when the port of Hurghada was attacked by Israeli aircraft during the first days of the 6 Day War. It was hit by an Israeli missile and sank where she was anchored in 30m.

The Excalibur or Susana was a dive boat that sank in 1996 following an electrical fire. It now lies at a floor depth of just over 20m making it suitable for OW divers

30 min by boat from Makadi bay, 5 min north of Ras Disha. Beautiful drop off full of marine life. Can be a bit challenging sometimes because of current and the waves but definitely worth a visit if you are in Makadi.

About 2 hours southeast of El Gouna is one of the most beautiful reefs of El Gouna. Since the reef is located in the open sea, there are often strong currents. This gives the possibility for many predators to inhabit the reef and corals, due to the great living conditions.

Just outside the Sahl hashisch bay, 20, 25 min away from Makadi bay and hurgada. Nice shallow dive site that can be done either as a stationary dive or as a drift dive. sandy plateau that turns into a drop off and a lot of ergs full of marine life.

25 minutes boat ride north of Makadi Bay. Fringing reef along the coast. Reef slope down to 15m depth - plateau down to 22m depth. Steep slope down to about 70m depth. Often light to medium current from the north. Diving is on the outside of the steep slope into the shallow area.

15 min by boat north of Makadi bay, near by the stunning abu hashisch island. Nice, protected lagoon to start the dive that leads to a stunning coral garden full of marine life. The dive is done starting from the lagoon and back inside the lagoon. Easy for divers of any level.

This site is about 1 hour and 30 min away from Elgouna to the southeast. This site is considered one of best dive sites in this area. It is roughly 200 meters long and full of hard and soft coral. There is a nice sloping drop-off on both sides. A fun dive for drift divers and also for a technical divers as well.

15 min by boat from Makadi bay, 5 min south of Abu Hashish lagoon. Beautiful shallow dive site full of ergs with plenty of marine life. Done as a stationary dive zig-zaging in between the ergs. Often exposed to a current, then possibility of big marine life encounter such as dolphins and eagle ray.
