Whether you choose to continue your education, start a new career or add something wonderful to your life, being a Dive Professional is a very rewarding experience.

Each of our Dive Professional Training Programs is based on our Diver Diamond Methodology, which focuses on the proper knowledge, skills, equipment, and experience required to help you become a highly qualified instructor.

 

Proper Knowledge. SSI’s Dive Professional Training Programs will help you acquire the knowledge to help new divers become confident and comfortable underwater.

Proper Skills. During SSI’s Dive Professional Training, you will learn from an experienced instructor who will teach and mentor you. Their goal is to make sure you are a comfortable and confident teacher.

Proper Equipment. You will learn the specific equipment requirements for your dive store. This information will help in teaching your students about the importance of owning their own diving equipment, as well as selling them Total Diving Systems.

Proper Experience. Gaining the knowledge, skills and equipment is only one part of the journey. Going diving is the only way to gain the actual experience needed to become a successful SSI Dive Leader.

 

How To Get Involved

As Continuing Education. If you are interested in developing the skills and knowledge of an instructor, but not necessarily in becoming active, you can still take our leadership programs. Discuss your desires with an SSI Dive Center and start your program today.

As a Full- or Part-time Career. Visit your local SSI Dive Center and learn more about the instructor program. Upon completion of your program, check out our job search database to post your resume and research various openings.

As a Crossover. SSI has a convenient crossover program for instructors affiliated with recognized agencies. Our premise is that since you are already an instructor, you only need to know how the SSI System and Philosophy function.

 

Becoming an SSI Dive Leader is as Simple as 1-2-3

 

1. Study Your Academic Materials at Home. By studying your materials at home before attending the training course, you will utilize your time better. This will also allow you to maximize the information the course has to offer.

2. Attend the Training Course. SSI Training Programs are active learning environments, focusing on practical application, real-world skills, and role-playing exercises. When you graduate, you will possess the dive business knowledge and skills to be a successful professional in retail and resort businesses.

3. Start Teaching. Check out our job search database! This is where you can post your resume and locate SSI Dive Centers looking for your special talents.
