SSI Levels of Recognition — A Symbol of Success!

SSI is the only agency that recognizes Dive Professionals for reaching targeted milestones. SSI’s Levels of Recognition is an opportunity to commemorate your hard-won accomplishments and show the world you are one of diving’s elite.

In order to achieve higher levels, just set goals and work towards them to better your career. Train students and go through training yourself to achieve higher instructor levels. The sum of personal qualification levels, training experience plus years of being a professional in the industry will define your personal level.

Each time you reach a new level in training, you will be rewarded with an upgraded recognition card. These cards symbolize excellence, commitment and loyalty in diving. The more courses you lead and divers you train, the higher levels of recognition – Century-, Gold 500-, Platinum 1000- and Platinum Pro 5000 Instructor - you will earn. Any SSI Dive Professional is entitled to take part in the recognition program. All you have to do is to get out there and train to get the credit you deserve!

Century Instructor

To qualify for CENTURY INSTRUCTOR, the SSI Instructor is to provide proof of 100 Experience Points, as outlined in the SSI Instructor DiveLog.

Silver 300 Instructor

To qualify for SILVER 300 Instructor, the SSI Instructor is to provide proof of 300 Experience Points, as outlined in the SSI Instructor DiveLog.

Gold 500 Instructor

To qualify for GOLD 500 Instructor, the SSI Instructor is to provide proof of 500 Experience Points, as outlined in the SSI Instructor DiveLog.

Platinum 1000 Instructor

To qualify for PLATINUM1000 INSTRUCTOR, the SSI Instructor is to provide proof of 1000 Experience Points, as outlined in the SSI Instructor DiveLog.

Platinum Pro 5000

Platinum Pros can be defined as the world’s most elite water explorers. The list of card holders is a “Who’s who” of diving, containing the world’s most prominent dive prosessionals.

What makes this award so special is that it’s all about diving. The unsung dive master on any island and Jacques Cousteau earned their cards the same way — by diving 5,000 times, or diving 2,500 times and making a documented/significant contribution to the recreational scuba diving industry. The Platinum Pro 5000 card cannot be purchased. Individuals must apply for the award and be recommended in writing by two Platinum Pros.

To qualify for PLATINUM PRO5000 INSTRUCTOR, the SSI Instructor is to:

• Provide proof of 5000 Experience Points, as outlined in the SSI Instructor DiveLog.
• Provide a letter of recommendation from two existing Platinum Pro 5000 Instructors.

or

• Provide Proof of 2500 Experience Points.
• Have 10 or more years of professional experience.
• Have made a significant contribution to the diving industry.
• Provide a letter of recommendation from two existing Platinum Pro 5000 Instructors.
