Divers here will typically experience 5’-30 foot visibility and a wide variety of depths, terrain, and temperatures. Mares Lake Jocassee (★3.9) Lake Jocassee is a man-made lake. The lake is over 360 feet deep with visibility ranging from 20 feet to over 50 feet at depth. There are several ramps here, one is set aside for divers and there is enough to keep divers coming back again and again. Mares Underwater Statue Alley (★4.2) 15 Min from Seneca SC this dive site is near DUKE power plant. The site is on public access to Lake Jocassee. The site ranges in depth from areas that are 30 ft/9m to 99 ft/30m deep. The water flow from the power station caused the lake to have a current up to 2 knots and visibility can be from 30 ft/9m to zero.
