It's easy for diving skills to get rusty and lose confidence if you haven't dived for a while. The SSI Scuba Skills Update will get you back in the water and diving quickly. This refresher course allows you to review and practice the diving skills you learned in your Open Water Diver program, under the guidance of an SSI Professional. This is a great course to take right before a diving vacation, so you can worry less about your skills and have more time to admire marine life. If you are a non-comprehensive Open Water Diver student, a Scuba Skills Update is ideal for practicing your diving skills before taking open water dives. With no set course length, you are able to take your time and focus on the skills you need help with.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You'll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents and learn practical techniques to perform rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of sessions in the pool and in open water, you'll be well prepared and confident in handling emergencies and rescue situations. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification. We start our class series with the first pool session on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Tentative program: - June 8 - Swim session (2h) - June 22 - Swim session (2h) The further program will be agreed upon with the participants and consists of 1 theory session in our classroom and 3 outdoor water sessions in Ekeren. The SSI Dry Suit Diver Specialty program is the best way to become a dry suit diver, teaching you all the knowledge and techniques you need to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. You will learn how to use specialized equipment such as dry suits and jackets, the benefits of dry suits and how to handle dry suit emergencies - which are unique to this type of diving. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty Brevet.

After an extensive briefing & mask adjustments we will enter the pool for the first introduction to the full face mask. We do this on Wednesday April 22nd in the swimming pool of Temse or if desired on Thursday April 23rd in Beveren.After this first meeting we will make 2 dives in the pit of ekeren on Saturday, April 25, appointment already at 8 am, end foreseen between 12 & 1 pm.

Night diving is a completely new experience - and requires extra skills. With the SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility Specialty you will discover how to dive in the dark safely, relaxed and with full enjoyment. This program is a great way to refine your night diving techniques and learn how to deal with limited visibility situations by combining online learning with real open water diving. So you learn step by step how to enter and exit the water safely, what extra equipment you need and how to communicate smoothly with your buddy in the dark. In short: everything you need to know to dive confidently at night. We meet 2 to 3 times for this specialty.

The most beautiful dive spots in the world? Very often... wrecks. These huge structures are full of life and history. Wreck diving gives you that unique feeling of discovery: as if you're diving in another time. With the SSI Wreck Diving Specialty you learn all the skills and knowledge you need to dive around wrecks safely and with confidence - without penetration, but with maximum experience. You combine theory with practical sessions in open water, where you learn how to safely dive around wrecks and artificial reefs down to 30 meters. You don’t always dive with a buddy; for certain purposes, it may be necessary to enter the water alone. The Independent or Solo Diver course is designed for this purpose—it teaches you how to handle problems underwater when you’re alone, making you independent of your buddy.

The Assistant Instructor certification is the next step after becoming a Divemaster and another step on your path to becoming a dive instructor. This will give you valuable teaching experience. You practice briefings, give theory and lessons in the water. If you want to continue your career as a dive professional, you can complete the Instructor Training Course, pass an Instructor Evaluation and become an Open Water Diving Instructor.

The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started are 40 verified/logged dives and certificates in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives experience in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. Start Today - You must be a Divemaster or equivalent to participate in SSI's 3-step Instructor Training. The training process begins with participation in the combination Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course with Digital Learning. After successful completion of the Instructor Training Course (ITC), you will participate in an Instructor Evaluation (IE) to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor. This 10-day training program entitles you to independently teach several key SSI programs such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue and Dive Guide.For those who want to take more time to learn and gain valuable teaching experience between courses, the 3 sections can also be taken as separate steps - Assistant Instructor, Instructor Training Course (ITC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE) sequentially at your own pace and with a flexible schedule.
