As a Nitrox diver you can increase your bottom times or safety margins and of course shorten surface intervals - so you can spend more time exploring the dive sites you love most and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge while learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

In this specialty program you will gain the skills and knowledge you need to safely and confidently navigate underwater. You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, how to depart from and return to a designated point including basic navigation patterns. You will also learn how to combine these navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All this enhances your underwater observation skills, improves your dive safety and helps you get the most out of every dive. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You'll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents and learn practical techniques to perform rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of sessions in the pool and in open water, you'll be well prepared and confident in handling emergencies and rescue situations. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification.

The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started are 40 verified/logged dives and certificates in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives experience in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. You will be certified as a Dive Guide upon successful completion of the Divemaster program. If you want to make your passion your profession by guiding certified divers, teaching Ecology programs, certifying instructors or becoming an instructor yourself, the next step is the Divemaster Upgrade with a minimum of 60 logged/verified dives. Upgrade immediately to Divemaster or at a later date by studying the Science of Diving materials yourself and passing the Digital Exam making you an SSI Professional.
