An excellent wall dive in the northernmost section of the Exumas. Mares, Janez Kranjc Periwinkle Reef (★4.2) Periwinkle Reef is located off of the island of New Providence and maximum depth is 21-25ft/6-8m with excellent visibility most days. It is a boat accessible dive site. Mares, Janez Kranjc Lost Blue Hole - Bahamas (★4.5) Located a little to the south of Rose Island, this blue hole, 30 m in diameter and 52 m deep, is suitable for diving from basic to technical levels. It starts at 13 m with a small cave at 22 m. Aqualung Smuggler’s Plane (★4.3) Smuggler’s Plane wreckage consisting of the wings and 2 engine cowlings in the middle of a shallow sandy/ sea grass bottom. There are no other underwater items of interest in the area, so don’t miss the directions on how to locate the wreck once you are underwater. Mares Wax Cut Drift (★4.0) A dive of approximately 30 minutes at an average depth of 7.5 meters (maximum 10.4m) through some of the Exuma Cays. As it is in an isolated location, the support of a vessel will be necessary. To do this, it is important to observe the local tide. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic The Washing Machine - Bahamas (★4.6) Diving at the Washing Machine isn’t about all the marine life you’ll see there but about the ripping current that you’ll get to ride. This site sits off the Exuma Cays and is a popular stop amongst liveaboards. Mares, Janez Kranjc Blacktip Wall (★4.3) A classic wall dive with passages through some “canyons“ or paths between rocks. This dive is performed between 13m (mooring depth) and 30m (maximum recommended depth on the wall).
