Certification Options for Open Water Diver material

Sometimes plans change and we understand that. If you’re unable to complete your Open Water Diver program, you can credit your learning towards other certifications and upgrade at any time. With the SSI Scuba Diver certification, you can dive up to 12 meters deep with an SSI Professional in open waters and will have completed almost half of the Open Water Diver training. By completing the remaining academic training, pool/confined water sessions and two open water training dives, you’ll become an Open Water Diver. The SSI Indoor Diver program certifies you to dive with a buddy in environments such as aquariums and purpose-built indoor diving facilities up to 18 meters deep. Become an Open Water Diver by performing all skills in the open water during two additional dives. As an SSI Referral Diver, you’ll be able to dive up to 5 meters deep in confined waters with a buddy. Typically as a Referral Diver, you’ll have completed the Open Water Diver academic and pool/confined water sessions at your local training center and plan to do your open water training dives elsewhere. Become an Open Water Diver by completing the four open water training dives.
