With this program, you can try a variety of specialties before committing to full specialty programs. It is a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver Program, you will try out 5 different specialties. You will complete one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI Instructor. With this trial program in specialty diving, you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full specialty programs any time in the future and credit your Advanced Open Water Diver training towards them. On Request Deep Diving The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives. You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for some advanced training, making it the next logical step to take in your dive education. Sunk by Lee Statler (Commercial Diver) mid 1980s Scubapro Vortex Springs (★4.1) This 500+ acre Resort produces approximately 32 million gallons of crystal “gin“ clear water daily and is a consistent temperature of 68 degrees. Vortex Spring is one of the most dived locations in all of Florida and is popular among technical as well as brand new divers. Mares, Janez Kranjc The LuLu (Wreck) (★4.1) LuLu, a 271-foot, steel-hulled former coastal freighter originally named Yokamu. Purpose-sunk on May 26, 2013, LuLu sits upright on a 115-foot sand bottom; its picturesque wheelhouse tops out at a rec-diver-friendly 60 feet. Mares, Janez Kranjc USS Oriskany Wreck, Pensacola, Florida (★4.5) The Oriskany is sitting upright on the seafloor in a north-south orientation with the bow facing due south.The uppermost structure of the Oriskany is located at: Latitude 30 degrees 2 minutes 33.3 seconds north (Lat 30° 2.555’ N) Longitude 87 degrees 0 minutes 23.8 seconds west. (Lon 87° 0.397’W). Mares YDT-15 (Navy Dive Tender Wreck) (★4.2) Depth: 75-100ft GPS Location: Latitude 30 05.267′ N Longitude 87 09.550′ WThe YDT-15 is one of two US Navy diving tenders that were sunk in April 2000 as artificial reefs. It is located just about 500′ away from the sister ship YDT-14. Aqualung USS Allen Liberty Ship (Wreck) (★4.2) Allen Liberty ship--WW-II Liberty Ship cut down to 15’ height X 416’ long X 50’ wide, originally commissioned as William T Barry hull #1980 Sunk by the state of Alabama in 1975 Mares Shirley Brown (Wreck) (★4.1) The Capt. Shirley Brown Memorial Reef may be found at 30*03.192N, 87*34.049W, approximately 13 nautical miles south of Perdido Pass. The wreck sits is at a depth of 85 feet/25m and the top deck is approximately 75 feet/22m from the surface. Mares Whiskey (Wreck) (★3.6) The Whiskey Wreck is located approximately 150 yards from the beach due south of the east end of the small beach house west of the parking area.
