Our ambassadors embody the spirit of exploration and commitment to ocean conservation.

Inspiration from
the Edges of Earth

The Edges of Earth Expedition team—Andi Cross and Adam Moore—kicked off our Global Ambassador Program through a year of storytelling and exploration. Traveling to over 30 countries so far, they’ve shown the importance of conservation when diving, and the transformative power of the sport.

FAQs

What is the SSI Ambassador Program?

The program connects passionate divers and content creators with SSI to share their stories worldwide. Ambassadors create inspiring social media content that promotes scuba, freediving, XR, mermaiding, and ocean protection.

Who can apply?

Anyone with an active diving background (scuba, freediving, XR, mermaid) and a passion for storytelling. You do not need to be a professional instructor – certified recreational divers are welcome.

When will the next wave of Ambassadors be announced?

Applications for the 2025 SSI Ambassador Program open in October and will end 31st of October, with final selections announced in early 2026.

What are Ambassador Requirements?

• Be SSI certified with a minimum of 50 logged dives/sessions • Active on at least 2 social media platforms • Minimum 5,000 followers combined with 3%+ engagement rate • Publish content regularly (min. 1 post per week) • Deliver monthly: 3 reels or TikToks, 4 stories, 1 photo set • Align with SSI’s values of education, community, and ocean conservation

What disqualifies me as an Ambassador?

• Lack of activity on social media • Inconsistent or poor-quality content • Failure to meet deliverable commitments • Content that conflicts with SSI values (e.g., unsafe diving practices, disrespect for marine life, discriminatory or offensive behavior) • Exclusive affiliation with a competitor program that restricts SSI collaboration

Can I be affiliated with other training agencies?

Yes. You can hold certifications from other agencies, but Ambassadors must actively represent SSI and include SSI in their content.

Do I have to be a Content Creator?

Yes – content creation is the core of this program. You don’t need to be a professional, but you should already be active on social media and comfortable with photo and video storytelling.

Do Ambassadors get compensated?

Yes. Ambassadors receive a monthly compensation as recognition for their work, plus: • Exclusive SSI digital kits to continue your dive education • Marketing exposure through SSI’s global channels • Access to the international SSI network • Opportunities to collaborate with dive centers and other ambassadors

How many ambassadors are selected?

For 2025, SSI will select approximately 12 ambassadors from all around the world.
