Are you ready to push the dive tables to the limit? This program intends to provide scuba divers with the training necessary to independently plan and conduct trimix diluent decompression dives to up to 60 meters / 200 feet deep, using a closed-circuit rebreather and a minimum of two bailout cylinders. It builds upon ingrained basic rebreather skills and develops a more problem-solving attitude and approach, facilitating longer decompression dives.

With safety at the forefront of the SSI training philosophy, this unit-specific program provides more in-depth academic topics such as gas density to enable safe dive planning. With training available on either a rEvo, JJ, SF2, AP, or Poseidon rebreather, this unit-specific program, SSI increases diver safety by only using trimix as the breathing gas to reduce gas density.

Certification Options for CCR Technical Extended Range

The SSI CCR Technical Extended Range program was developed and intended for the use of trimix as the breathing gas to reduce inert gas narcosis and increase diver safety. An air CCR Extended Range certification option is available for those areas where helium is not accessible, or diving is limited to 40 meters / 145 feet. By completing the remaining academic training and two open water dives, you can credit your learning towards the CCR Extended Range Trimix certification and upgrade at any time.

Take your Rebreather Training Further

As a certified CCR Technical Extended Range diver, you will have the most challenging technical scuba training within your sights. After gaining technical experience diving your scuba rebreather, you will be ready to join the elite level of divers making CCR hypoxic trimix dives to depths of 100 meters with the CCR Hypoxic Trimix SSI certification.

You can also expand your rebreather training by taking your rebreather into the overhead environment with SSI’s Cave Diving and Wreck Diving Extended Range programs. With our range of diving courses for rebreathers, there are no limits to your diving ambitions and goals.
