Lake Schladitz, or Schladitzer See in German, is an artificial lake in Landkreis Nordsachsen, Saxony, some 30 minutes north of the city of Leipzig.
Perfectly nestled in the plains of Saxony at an elevation of 104m (341ft), the lake has a surface area of about 218ha (538ac).
Originally an opencast mining hole of the former lignite Breitenfeld mines, the modern sports resort of today allows divers, swimmers and campers alike to enjoy its clean waters, and excellent facilities.
Divers of all levels will enjoy its beautiful underwater rock formations, and somewhat interesting marine life.
