Malapascua Island by the locals called Logon is situated in the northern tip of Cebu Island. It forms part of the municipality of Daanbantayan about 128 kilometers from Cebu City.
The Spaniards called the place “Mala Pascua,” which literally means “Bad Eastern.” From then on, the Spaniards and the non-locals would refer to the island as “Malapascua,” while the local residents insist that their island is called Logon.
