La Franata del Castello

On a seabed between 30 and 55m, at the narrowest point of the Strait of Messina, lies the wreck of Cannitello, known as “U Vapuri“ and identified with the ship “Alvah“, sunk in the early 1900s. The hull is placed upside down on the seabed that degrades rapidly, divided into two sections, and is covered in life!

Entering from the shore, you’ll find the bottom covered in fine white sand that slopes steeply towards the depths of the Strait of Messina, reaching 40 meters just a few steps from the beach. The sea bed, in crystal clear water, is animated by thousands of great spirographs, among which are often seahorses and trumpet fish.

At Saline Joniche, with access from a wide beach of pebbles and sand, there is a small cliff with vertical falls from 8m to 20m, with a sandy bottom and subsequent rock slide, covered with a variety of algae and sponges. At a shallow depth, under a small cave, there is a statue of Jesus, covered in sea life.

The top of the shoal is between 8 m and 15 m deep, for about 300 metres in length, with its flattened ovoid shape, more or less parallel to the coast and about 300 metres away from it. It offers a conformation rich in ravines, small and large hollow caves, imposing rocks and walls.

Access from the shore is easy for this simple but beautiful dive spot, boasting amazing biodiversity. The dive starts with a gravel landslide and sand afterwards, gradually descending to 12 meters, then dropping off rapidly, with an inclination of almost 45°, to over 400 meters deep.

Το ατμόπλοιο Pasubio, που βρίσκεται στα ανοικτά του λιμανιού της Roccella Jonica, είναι ένα από τα πιο συναρπαστικά ιστορικά ναυάγια της νότιας Καλαβρίας Lonian θάλασσα. Μετά από μια κάθοδο κατά μήκος του σχοινιού, θα συναντήσετε την καλά διατηρημένη υπερκατασκευή του σε βάθος 35μ, με τον αμμώδη πυθμένα να κάθεται στα 44μ. Το ναυάγιο είναι ελαφρώς γλίστρησε στην αριστερή πλευρά.

Πρόκειται για έναν βυθισμένο αρχαιολογικό χώρο της ελληνικής πόλης Καουλόν. Βρίσκεται στον πάτο με άμμο και βότσαλα, βάθους 5μ και 7μ. Μπορείτε να θαυμάσετε πάνω από 200 ελληνικά αρχιτεκτονικά στοιχεία και κομμάτια κολώνων, που χρονολογούνται από τον 5ο αιώνα π.Χ. Η περιοχή, μόλις αναδύθηκε, είναι σήμερα κάτω από το νερό λόγω του παράκτιου βραδυνεισμού.

Το ναυάγιο αυτού του σουηδικού φορτηγού πλοίου βρίσκεται στον αμμώδη βυθό ακριβώς έξω από τις ακτές της Guardavalle, όπου βυθίστηκε στις 05 Ιανουαρίου 1993 λόγω κακών καιρικών συνθηκών, ενώ έπλεε από την Τουρκία με ένα φορτίο καολίνη. Είναι τώρα σπασμένα σήμερα σε δύο τμήματα.

At about 1000 meters from the coast of Addaura, between the village of Acquasanta and Mondello, there is a ripple that runs parallel to the coast that varies from 25 to 45 meters deep.
