Diving in Nuku Hiva

Nuku Hiva is one of the two main islands of the Marquesas. This place is also where the airport is located. Nuku Hiva is famous among divers due to the high probability of encountering melon headed-whales, usually seen during calm seas on the eastern side of the island. These white-lipped cetaceans leap at the surface and are very interactive with hu-mans. Some important dive sites include Matateiko Point on the western side with tons of mantas and morays and Hammerhead Sentinel with incredible macro life and hammerhead sightings. You will find excellent diving conditions all year-round.
