The Korean dive center W Divers Coron has opened in Coron, a paradise of shipwrecks. Instructor Kang Deok-hwan, who worked at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Mokpo for 20 years and then left the company, has been preparing since 2015 by visiting the Philippines regularly, and opened and operated it on March 01 2015.
Instructor Kang Deok-hwan, who was also the president of the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries scuba diving club, decided to run his second act in the Philippines and settled in Coron, Palawan after looking around. It is common for people who first enter the Philippines to gain experience through the Korean community and study thoroughly before starting a business, but Instructor Kang Deok-hwan boldly took on a reckless act, which caused concerns from those around him, but he says that he was lucky and was able to settle down with the help of good people.
W Divers, located on the main street of Coron, has already received much attention from the local community due to the bold investment of instructor Kang Deok-hwan. In addition to installing air conditioning by blocking all the open spaces of the shop with glass windows, two tour bancas were purchased and a clean air-conditioned multicab was prepared for customer movement. In addition, all rental equipment was prepared with new ones, which received a good response from customers.
Currently, we have 5 air-conditioned rooms in our own accommodations, but we also provide accommodations that are suitable for our customers’ level, such as fan rooms, air-conditioned rooms, Korean resorts with swimming pools, and hotel-style resorts with swimming pools.
We offer all types of programs, from experience diving, diving education, and fun diving, and we also offer package programs where you can enjoy diving in Coron, famous for its shipwrecks. We also offer a 2-day, 1-night uninhabited island diving package, which includes 5 dives and uninhabited island camping.
For divers who visit Coron for wreck diving, we create stamps for each type of wreck in Coron and allow divers who have visited the wreck to stamp them in their logbooks to leave a memory. Coron’s wrecks are great places for technical divers to learn and train, such as wreck penetration, but there are also many places where recreational divers can safely enjoy the inside of the wrecks. D Divers brings along guides with a lot of experience in wreck diving to ensure that you can dive safely.
Meanwhile, in addition to shipwreck diving, Coron has a variety of unique diving points, such as Barracuda Lake and Cathedral Cave, where hot water rises from hot springs, as well as general fun diving points with beautiful underwater scenery. Therefore, even divers who are not very interested in shipwrecks can have plenty of fun.
