Barra Reef Divers was started by Russel Walster back in 2002 and is the longest running dive centre in the Barra region, Inhambane.

Russel and Jackie had always had a dream of building their own dive centre and in 2019 they finished building what Barra Reef Divers is today - a beautiful dive centre, meters from the Indian Ocean with private pool, bar and restaurant. Our pool is the largest and deepest dive training pool in the country and the dive centre design reflects the easy nature of Mozambique.

Russel and Jackie are both SSI instructors. Russel, originally from South Africa, has over 40 years experience and is an Assistant Instructor Trainer with SSI, he also has been a CMAS, TDI and SDI Instructor in the past, so his knowledge about all things diving is expansive!

Barra Reef Divers is the culmination of over 60 years experience in the dive industry and is a SSI / Mares affiliated Professional Dive Career Development Facility. We train from entry level diving to Instructor level.

Aside from diving we also offer Ocean Safaris, scenic islands trips and fishing charters. We aspire to give our guests a memorable experience in our ‘one stop shop’ for all water activities in the Inhambane area.
