Kottefaru Thila

This fantastic pinnacle gets its name from a blanket of anemones covering the top of the reef. There are 2 large overhangs on opposite sides of the thila full of interesting corals and glass fish.

Ett mycket trevligt dyk på flera hundra meter längs ön Kottefaru. Det översta revet består av hårda koraller som sjunker från 4 till 8 meter och sluttar ner till 15 meter, sedan en vägg som sjunker långt över 30 meter. På det översta revet mellan juni och november blir platsen en rengöringsstation för mantas.

This spectacular wall site, located in the Southeast of Raa Atoll, makes for an interesting drift dive, starting at around 12m and dropping down to over 80m in depth!

Revets topp påminner om ett månlandskap och därför är det ofta ett mycket speciellt dyk. Den norra sidan tjänar ofta som utgångspunkt när strömmen rinner från en brant vägg över en sandig platå till en normal sluttning. Mantarockor besöker oss mellan slutet av september och november.

An approximately 200m long thila in the channel between Kottefaru and Vandhoo where we dive the north side. Here it goes down in steps down to 45-50m. The overhangs are nicely covered with soft corals. In the blue water, the grays pull their lanes. With beginners, we try to find calm conditions.

A very nice drift dive over several hundred meters along the island of Vandhoo. The top reef made of hard corals drops from 4 to approx. 8m, sloping down to 15m, then a 250m long wall that drops to over 30m +. On the TOP reef, between June and November, is a cleaning station for Mantas.

This is a drift dive suitable for all levels. Beginners drift past the upper overhangs at 10-15m, while the more experienced divers head deeper at 25m to take a look at the overhangs there. The relatively steep reef is fully covered with soft coral when there is a current. Nitrox / Deep specialties recommended.

A simple, mostly calm dive site.Very suitable for the first boat dive since the beginning lighter sandy bottom.Big blocs with schooling fish of different species are here encountered. The reef falls on very slowly from 2m down to about 11m and then aplateau run out at a depth of 20-24m.

Drift dive with the current flowing from the western tip of Kinohlas along the north side towards the small Thila. Lots of fish on the top of the reef, some really nice little overhangs deeper. Experienced divers dive to the thila, beginners stay over the overhangs and slowly ascend the Sandy Slope

Den här platsen är utmärkt för nattdyk och ibland för specialdyk med strömmar. Revet går ner från 3-4 meter till 30 meter. Det finns några fina korallblock fulla av clownfiskar och på natten hittar du ofta många hummer och räkor. Observera att det inte alltid är möjligt att dyka här. Strömmen kan vara extrem!!!
