Caribbean Club Sand Chute

Originally a U.S. Army transport ship, the Oro Verde spent it’s last 10 years of life transporting bananas between Ecuador and Miami. It eventually ran in 1976 on the reef surrounding Grand Cayman, right off Seven Mile Beach.

Colorful sponges intertwined with staghorn corals create a backdrop for spotted eagle rays and lots of turtles. Also look for nurse sharks hiding amongst the reef.

Doc Poulson is a purposefully sunk wreck as an artificial reef on the western part of Grand Cayman Island. This is a fun wreck to dive and a great night dive.

The Kittiwake is one of the best-known wrecks in all of the Caribbean, if not the whole world, and sits just offshore from Seven Mile Beach. Due to its shallow depth (no deeper than 65 feet) it’s popular not only among scuba divers but freedivers and snorkelers as well.

Trinity Caves is one of the most popular dive sites on the west side of Grand Cayman. The main swim through is 70 feet deep where you can follow the tunnel back and around out onto the main wall. A super fun dive full of caverns and swim-throughs.

Located off George Town, Devils Grotto is a popular dive site among beginners as well as intermediate snorkelers. Devil’s Grotto features massive hulking coral heads with open chimneys and swim-throughs filled with tarpon, parrotfish, barracuda and schools of silversides.

Located off of Sunset House, this is the area of the reef where the “mermaid“ statue is located. Sunset Divers has full service dive shop at this location if you chose to dive it from the shore.

Sunset House Reef is the most popular dive site in all of the Cayman Islands. This is shore diving at its best with so much to see in shallow clear water, it’s an amazing dive for both scuba divers and snorkelers alike.

Along the northwest shore of the island sits a mini wall just offshore from the famous Cayman Turtle Center, hence the name. This is an easy entry shore dive with little to no current and great visibility. Great for snorkeling and diving.

Named for the old Spanish Bay Reef Resort, Spanish Bay Reef is a very popular shore dive with locals and visitors alike. Just 200ft from the man-made breakwater lies a mini wall running parallel with the shoreline. Diving here during high tide is best as low tide drops the visibility significantly.
