Another famous region in the beautiful country of Mozambique is the province of Inhambane, located in the southern area. The province is known for its idyllic beaches that extend throughout the coast such as Tofo, Pomene, Barra, Zavala, Jangamo, and Zavora. In this region, you can find the Bazaruto Archipelago, better known for being a well-preserved National Park that consists of six islands. Along this area, you will find many natural parks and a variety of vegetation and animals. Whether you’re a beginner diver or an expert, you will find many suitable dive sites according to your level. Different spots for you to explore, include stunning shallow reefs, many shipwrecks, deep caverns, and even stunning pinnacles. Stretching along the coast of Chidenguele to Inhassoro, you can find an incredible reef system with large areas that remain unexplored. Dive into the waters of Inhambane to find a wide array of macro and pelagic life and vibrant corals. Some of the species you will find include whale sharks, surgeonfish, angelfish, and parrotfish, among many others. You will also find unique and rare species such as devil rays, dugongs, and leatherback turtles. Scuba diving and underwater photography are a preferred activity in the region due to the uncrowded places you will find.
