Learn to Dive

Scuba Diving is one the greatest adventures you will ever experience. Becoming a scuba diver marks the first step in a journey that will forever change the way you experience the world. Few of us will become astronauts and explore outer space. But you can explore and experience the wonder of feeling weightless, interacting with incredible marine life and discovering wrecks only open to those who become divers.

At SSI, we don’t want you to just learn to dive; we want you to become a diver and this is the SSI difference. To become a diver, there are factors that are very important for you to consider. Things like how long should my course last? Can I dive? Do I have to be a strong swimmer? Are there age restrictions? Can I try before I buy? Do I need my own equipment? Where can I go diving? Where can I sign up for class? Will my certification be recognized internationally?

Can I dive? Do I have to be a strong swimmer?

  • Being able to handle yourself in the water comfortably is important. Simply complete a medical statement to see if you can dive

Are there any age restrictions for children or seniors?

Can I try scuba diving before I buy?

Do I need my own equipment?

  • No, it is possible to rent the major equipment, like regulators and BC’s. But, the safest way for anyone to dive is in their own personally fitted, high quality, total diving system. To go through class, you will want and need at least your own personal equipment – things like mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit. And, during your training, you will learn two different equipment configurations, which will increase your ability and confidence when choosing your own life support equipment.

Where can I go diving?

  • The world is full of amazing diving destinations! Whether it’s the oceans or lakes, the underwater world offers endless and unique experiences.

Where can I sign up for class?

Are the academics online or is it printed material and will my certification be recognized internationally?

Scuba Diver is the perfect course for those who do not have time to complete an entire Open Water Diver Program. The content of this program represents about half of a complete scuba diving certification program (SSI Open Water Diver). You can then complete the second half and become a certified diver at another time, anywhere that is convenient for you.

At the end of the program you will receive your Scuba Diver Certificate indicating the successful completion of this program. This certificate entitles you to take part in dives under the direct supervision of a Dive Professional up to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet all over the world. When you decide to complete your Open Water Diver certification, the Scuba Diver Program can be fully credited to your training. This way you will not have to redo any part of the program twice. After a short skill update you can complete your Open Water Diver rating.
