King of the Galápagos

The marine iguana may not be famous for its beauty, but it is well known throughout the world for its unique ability to swim underwater. Distinguished ecological adaptations are common amongst many species found in the Galápagos Islands, making this area a wildlife lover’s dream. This species of iguana is only found on the Galápagos Islands of Ecuador. They spend the day basking in the sun along the rocky shoreline and swimming in the sea to forage on algae.
