The Ancient Ones

Reptiles cover a broad range of air-breathing vertebrates that regulate their body temperatures exothermally (better known as “cold-blooded”), lay soft-shelled eggs, and have scaley or bony-plated bodies. The most popular reptiles are turtles, lizards, snakes, crocodiles, and alligators. Reptiles include some of the most ancient species to still roam the planet and are fascinating to watch. The raw power of an enormous crocodile or alligator, the graceful swimming of a sea turtle, and the slick slithering of a snake are all spectacular sights to witness firsthand. Reptiles in their natural habitat are nature at its finest. Some species of snakes and lizards are venomous and should be approached with caution.
