A series of canyons and channels form a maze-like reef structure that can be difficult to navigate. The reef is covered with kelp and invertebrates, with patches of clean white sand between. Depths on this site range from 5-20m, making it an ideal site for Open Water and Advanced divers.

Danger Rock

The northern side of Danger Rock drops down to 18m, curving up to a pinnacle at 9m, then drops to depths of 45 and 50m to boulders. This side of the site can have strong current.Towards the western side, two pinnacles rise from 30m, form a narrow canyon which divers can swim through.

Taupiri Bay has a sandy sloping bottom with a fairly significant reef structure that curves out from the left side of the shore. Max depth is 8-10m with a favourable tide.

Pillar Rock forms a large reef system, where depths range from 5-30m. The reef is covered by kelp and invertebrates. This dive site covers a large area with a range of depths.
